This is the first drill I bought of the modern drills. That is, I junked my old corded drill with Jacobs chuck and key and replaced it with the Ryobi 7.2v cordless drill. Aside from the obvious advantage of cordless, if you think ahead and charge the nicad battery overnight a day before use, you will get enough reserve power to finish most light home projects. I like this drill so much that I've now purchased an extra 7.2v nicad battery and charger, so I can have plenty of power to do longer projects. Let me warn you, when the battery starts to drain, there is simply not enough power to drive wood screws into 3/4" plywood or jobs like that. I give this drill five stars because I've had it for over two years now and it continues to work like new. I get a lot of use out of it.
